Insurance and Financial Services Qualifications
Professional IQ College offer two streams of qualifications for brokers, insurance professionals, financial advisers and financial services support staff who wish to move along the pathway to greater competency and professionalism within the financial services sector:
- The NZQA-accredited New Zealand New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services, levels 4 and 5, and
- Industry Certificates issued by Professional IQ College.
NZQA Qualifications - Level 4 and 5
These qualifications are developed around NZQA unit standard criteria. This means the content is prescribed by the Ministry of education to meet predetermined outcomes.

The Level 4 is a basic entry level qualification, and PIQ College can offer two strands - Banking and Insurance.
The Level 5 Qualification has 8 strands, designed to meet the education needs of the sectors that make up the Financial Services Industry.
PIQ Certificates - Insurance Broking
Professional IQ College offers a range of certificates which have been researched and developed specifically for New Zealand Insurance brokers working within the New Zealand insurance industry. These certificates cover a blend of product based learning and general insurance principles.
There are three levels:
- Certificate in Insurance Broker Support
- Certificate in Insurance Broking, and
- Diploma in Insurance Broking.
Our Certificate and Diploma programmes are practical, flexible, and recognise the product and skill requirements of New Zealand insurance brokers and broker support people.
