For staff not providing financial advice but involved in support roles within the Insurance industry the New Zealand Certificate of Financial Services Level 4 is suitable to provide an introduction into the regulatory environment.
New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services Level 5 - meets the requirements needed for Registered Financial Advisers (RFA's), and includes separate strands for General Insurance and Life and Health Insurance. It has been designed for fire and general insurance advisers, as well as general insurance company staff.
Enrolment is possible either in the full qualification, or the core knowledge or general insurance modules individually.
For those in full time work completion of the full qualification is expected to take 12-18 months part time.

Alternatively the Professional IQ Qualifications have been designed as product based technical learning specifically with all levels of insurance broking staff in mind. These certificates represent an opportunity to extend learnign to more specific areas, and meet ongoing CPD requirements.

Most insurance broking companies are members of the Insurance Brokers Association of New Zealand (IBANZ).
