Authorised Financial Adviser Pathway
The AFA pathway is developed around New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) criteria. This means the content is prescribed by the New Zealand Ministry of Education to meet predetermined outcomes. You can find out more about NZQA on their website.
The NZ Certificate in Financial Services (L5) has been developed to provide students with specific knowledge for those working or seeking work in New Zealand’s financial services sector. Assessments requiring the application or demonstration of skills and knowledge may be performed using workplace evidence or evidence derived from simulation or scenario-based activities.
Graduates of the Certificate will be capable of self-management in roles in Financial Advice and Investment.
The AFA pathway leading to the NZ Certificate in Financial Services - L5 is now available to students in overseas countries by distance learning.
This pathway is suitable for individuals who have been working in the financial services industry in their own country (non New Zealand Citizen/Resident) and want to prepare for work in New Zealand.
If you would like to study with Professional IQ College whilst living overseas, you must be able to access the internet to download and upload documents, communicate by email and meet the entry level criteria including age and English Language.
