Students Based Overseas
Professional IQ College is able to offer a number of places to overseas students wishing to study the Financial Services programme designed to meet the educational requirements for Authorised Financial Advisers (AFAs) in New Zealand.
This pathway is suitable for individuals who have been working in the financial services industry in their own country and want to prepare for work in New Zealand.
The AFA pathway comprises three modules of learning, these are; Core, Investment and Financial Advice. The Financial Advice module is split to accommodate two types of enrolment one overseas and one in New Zealand.
The overseas component comprises the Core and Investment Modules and the Financial Advice (Advice Process). These are delivered by distance learning and therefore suitable for individuals who are aiming to emigrate to New Zealand within the next two years, but will be living in their own country whilst studying.
The New Zealand component comprises the Financial Advice (Legislative Framework) which is delivered separately due to the examination only being administered in New Zealand. After migration students will be able to undertake the Financial Advice (Legislative Framework) examination and complete the AFA pathway.
Below is a chart setting out the steps to be taken to meet enrolment and achievement requirements leading to the New Zealand Financial Markets Authority educational requirements as set out in the Code of Professional Conduct for Authorised Financial Advisers.
