Students Based Overseas
Professional IQ College is able to offer a number of places to overseas students wishing to study the Financial Services programme designed to meet the educational requirements for Financial Advisers (FA) in New Zealand.
This pathway is suitable for individuals who have been working in the financial services industry in their own country and want to prepare for work in New Zealand. This pathway is specifically for students who are aiming to emigrate to New Zealand within the next one to two years but will be living in their own country whilst studying.
The New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services Programme has been designed to meet the new regulatory requirements under the New Zealand Financial Services Legislation Amendment Act requiring all Financial Advisers giving financial advice to the public to demonstrate Competence, Knowledge and Skill.
The New Zealand Certificate that the programme leads to is the New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) v2. This is worth 65 credits on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework. The strands are:
- Life, Disability and Health Insurance
- General Insurance
- Residential Property Lending
This certificate provides a nationally recognised qualification for financial advisers; for those who need or want to become qualified in line with the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) which is the New Zealand Government agency responsible for enforcing securities, financial reporting and company law as they apply to financial services and securities markets in New Zealand.
