Every year more than 3000 customers of financial service providers call the ISO Scheme to complain about their financial service provider. Many of these issues could have been avoided. This presentation identifies the common issues clients tell the ISO Scheme they have with their broker and how these issues could have been avoided. Using real examples from complaints and complaint enquiries to the Insurance & Savings Ombudsman Scheme, this workshop will discuss the most common problems, including:

  • lack of information at the point of sale;
  • confusion over product terms;
  • declined claims;
  • the role of the adviser; and
  • poor complaint handling.
