THE COURSE
Over two days we cover the topics below with theory first and then practical exercises to imbed the knowledge. We stage a mock investigation based around a fraud, and conduct live interviews until the crime is solved. Live interviews give everyone the opportunity to put the theory they have just learned into practice. Participants finish the course energised and ready to confidently use their new skills

HOW WE DO IT
When people are struggling to get to the truth they assume it’s because the other person is being
dishonest. However, there are several factors that can get in the way. Things that help you get to the truth include:
Memory holds the information you seek so we teach you tactics to help people access it.
Engaging with the client and explaining what you want. This is often missed and is key to getting the best information.
Rapport building is critical for getting the best information. It also adds to a relationship, which leads to long-term clients, and referrals and is crucial if you are passing information to the client and to ensure they are actively taking it in.
Questioning - there’s always a better question and if you want the best information you have to strive to ask the best questions.
Planning and structure are essential for thorough and accurate information gathering.
Note taking that accurately records a conversation - If it isn’t written down how do you prove what was said.
Listening and monitoring to see if your messages are getting across and the client is still engaged. Their attention and understanding will directly affect the quality of information you receive and how much of your information they take in.
