This Residential Property Lending for New Advisers Course is a three-day workshop which can be completed as part of working toward the New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services.
This course has been jointly developed between Professional IQ College and Financial Advice NZ to provide course training and assessment of the NZQA accredited Residential Property Lending strand of the New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services.
The practical workshop format prepares advisers for their regulatory requirements; how to work with lenders; meeting client needs and the practicalities of running a mortgage advice business. The course also incorporates feedback from the industry and has received strong support from both adviser dealer groups and lenders.
Please note that as well as completing group work during the course, advisers will be required to complete assessments after the course to receive the Residential Property Lending Module Certificate. Completion of this work can be carried out immediately or as your workload allows (subject to a maximum time frame approx 3 months)
The assessments will be assessed by Professional IQ College to meet the NZQA standards.
You will be given online access to the first unit standard 7 days prior to the course to familiarise yourself with the format of the assessment material.
On completion of the unit standards your results will be uploaded to NZQA records and ANZ / Westpac will be notified.
Please note to secure your place on the course, full payment is required at least 10 working days prior to the course start date and Public Trust student fee protection provisions may apply.
The Core Knowledge part of the New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services L5 is not included however this can be completed separately to attain the full qualification.
This module provides the knowledge and skills required to understand residential property lending concepts and the legislative and regulatory environment in which a mortgage adviser operates. You will learn the relationship between residential property lending products and individual needs, and the ability to provide fit for purpose solutions for borrowing.
Details of the unit standards included in this module are shown below. (NZQA 20 Credits)
A study guide is provided for each unit standard along with an assessment document.
