What is the cost of the Financial Services course for international students?

The enrolment fee is $4,700 + GST, which is more affordable than Open Polytechnic.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes, we are the only training organisation offering payment by instalments to help you with affordability. You can also divide the course into two modules. This allows you to enrol in, and pay, for one module at a time. Contact enrolments@professionaliq.co.nz

Is the course NZQA approved?

Do you offer support in other languages?

Yes! Members of our Student Support team speak Mandarin, Spanish, and German, so you can get help in your preferred language.

Can I study online?

Absolutely. The course is delivered online, giving you flexibility to study at your own pace and you have up to 49 weeks to complete the New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5). You can also complete in a much shorter time depending on your commitments.

Who qualifies as an international student?

An international student is defined by Immigration New Zealand and NZQA. This covers a range of visas, including partner, work, and student visas. While Professional IQ does not provide immigration or visa advice, we can tell you more about our courses to help you assess your eligibility. Please contact us to learn more.

Do you have a referral programme?

Yes! Until 31 December 2025, you can refer an international student and earn a 10% referral fee (on completion of their enrolment and payment of their fees). The referred student gets a discount of 10% on their course fees as well. There’s no limit to the number of students you can refer.

How do I refer someone?

Email your introduction to enrolments@professionaliq.co.nz and we’ll take care of the rest.

When will I receive my referral fee?

The referral fee is paid based on the enrolment fee received from the student within three months of referral.

What happens if two people claim the same referral?

Professional IQ will decide who receives the referral fee. Our decision is final.

Is there a deadline for the referral offer?

Yes, this referral needs to have been made by 31 December 2025. Enrolments can be received until 31 January 2026.

Do I need to be in New Zealand to enrol?

No, this programme is for international students, both onshore in New Zealand, and offshore.

What are the entry requirements?

You must be at least 18 years old and have good English skills (IELTS or equivalent may apply) and if onshore, hold a valid visa.

How long does the course take?

Typically, students take 26 to 49 weeks while employed. However, there is nothing stopping you doing it much more quickly than that if you are able to commit the time.

Will this qualification allow me to work as a financial adviser in NZ?

Yes, it meets the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) requirements and the Code of Professional Conduct for Financial Advice Services. However, you still need to register with a Financial Advice Provider before giving advice.

What happens after I complete the course?

You’ll receive an NZQA-approved qualification and can apply for financial adviser roles.

Is GST included in the course fee?

No, GST is additional.
